It is with great sadness that we share the news that our friend, Karen Allen Kahl passed away last night, June 7. While we are hugely affected by this tremendous loss, we are also comforted by the fact that in Karen's last months she was supported by all those who loved her. The cards, letters, donations and prayers that were sent to her in her final days were profoundly appreciated by Karen. Karen relished in receiving all the love that she was given by her friends and family. All of us who knew Karen will treasure the memories of Karen's beautiful smile and particularly her ability to make people laugh. Rest in peace, Karen.

It makes me so sad that somebody who had an ear to ear grin all the time in high school, had to suffer so much in later years!! I always think of her as one of the HB surfer girls!!!!
All you friends that went through it with her, are GREAT!!!

I still can't believe that the girl I knew in high school who had sooo much life to her has gone so early. I woke up today with her so strongly in my thoughts. Her big brown eyes, thee biggest smile, and an infectious laugh. I smile when I think of Karen.
She was blessed to have such wonderful friends who kept us all up to date. I'm praying for all of you and Karen's family...
Life is too short...she will be missed!
