I would very much like to get more information on Barb's passing (ie: when, how etc). I have often thought of her over the last 30 years and wondered how she was and where she was. I had no idea that she had passed and I must say I am very saddened by this information.

Barb was a very unique individual, way ahead of her time I must say. She was truly special and very kind and loving. For those of us that called her a friend she will forever be in our hearts....God Bless You Barb....

Barb was living in Medford, Oregon at the time of her passing on 12/28/2004. She had a cardiac arrest on 12/18/2004 due to a bad heart valve. After 10 days on life support, she passed away surrounded by family and friends. Barb left behind her 10 year old daughter and her husband of just two months.

Barb moved to Oregon shortly after her daughter was born so she could raise her in a more relaxed environment. She was working as a neo-natal intensive care nurse at a local hospital.

Marla - thanks so much for the info. I was stunned when I read her name in the Lumen. Shocking seeing someone you spent so many years with in the passings column of that publication. I always think of it for someone's grandparents or faculty - not someone your own age.

Fun-loving and unique are the right words to describe Barb. I actually find it a contradiction to what I remember that she wanted to raise her daughter in a more relaxed atmosphere. Barb was always out there in front of everyone trying something new and never one to be bored.

The world is a duller place with her passing.

What a shock. I think Debbie said it right. She was a very UNIQUE person. I went to St Annes and Mater Dei with her, and it hurts my heart to hear of her passing. I will keep her family in my prayers. Love You Barb!

I remember Barb's laughter and sense of humor.  She and Bob Merrigan made Brother Philip's English class tolerable.

I can't believe I am just learning this. This breaks my heart. I was always hoping to see Barb again and was scrolling through this and just found out all these years later. This is such a shock to me.
